Manage specifications

The workspace at a glance

After setup, ETLGen opens the Home workspace. It is the starting point for creating specifications and returning to work already in progress.

Create a specification

Select Add New Specification to choose the target platform, project, destination, and load behavior. ETLGen then opens the specification editor.

Find existing work

The specification list can be filtered by ETL tool, project, connection, output, and ETL name. Use the row actions to:

• View a read-only version.
• Edit a specification. One editor should work on a specification at a time.
• Delete obsolete work. Deletion cannot be undone.

Useful menu actions

Refresh reloads the list. Edit Connections updates shared connection definitions. Reset Filters clears list filters. ETLGen Settings returns to workspace configuration, and ADF Credentials updates Azure access.
